Tell Me When is an interesting new adult romance. You have your typical broken main characters who are trying to overcome their horrific pasts when they find comfort in each other. Their pasts come back to life to cause drama bombs in the story thus resulting in an unstable foundation. However, with that being said, this was an interesting read with new reasons on why the MC’s are broken.

Amber suffers from PTSD due to something that recently happened to her. Little by little you get the story as to what happened to her because every day is a challenge for her. Not only is she afraid of her own shadow, but certain things like lightening and roses bring back horrible flashbacks. So the readers never forget how traumatized Amber is throughout the story.

Marcus was your typical man whore who uses sex to overcome his pain. However, when meeting Amber he finds himself wanting a monogamous relationship. Yeah, he’s just like every other bad boy but the thing that torments him isn’t just a deadbeat mom. Oh no, it’s a lot worse than that and it horrified me.

Even though this story sort of follows the new adult mold, the author still thought outside the box and brought new elements into the story. I liked that even though the storyline was predictable, Stina was able to surprise me with small twists that I wasn’t expecting.

 

“It’s hard to feel normal when you never feel safe., now even in your dreams… All I want is to forget what happened and feel normal again.”
