This month we saw two typhoons. So, needless to say, I was able to get quite a bit of reading in.
Every summer I take part in a summer reading challenge with my friend and her circle of people. There’s usually a theme to the overall challenge, and there are 18 book categories. Things like “a book published before you were born”, “a book published this year”, “a new to you author”, etc. Every year I fail to finish the challenge, but not this year. This year I finally finished the challenge with time to spare since it ends Labor Day weekend.
I’m honestly surprised I read all the categories since some are things like thriller or mystery, and those aren’t really my genre. Somehow I made it work, found a book that would interest me, and got through it.
Below is the list of book categories and the books I read for each slot.

I finished my summer reading challenge post also. It is linked on my Sunday Salon. Congratulations! What a lot of books!
Congrats on finishing the challenge! How interesting that one of the prompts is a cookbook
Nice work! I ended up abandoning my summer reading list because I just got all blocked on it, so I admire people who manage to stick to them!
Great job completing your summer challenge! That’s an interesting, but complicated, set of criteria to meet.
You are quite a prolific reader and I am in awe of the number of books you got to for your summer reading!
You have an eclectic selection of books! Where are you with typhoons? We had our first hurricane in quite a while here in Hawaii.
Typhoons sound scary. Glad all is well. Lots of great reading. Nine Month Contract looks cute. Enjoy your week!
Congratulations on completing your summer challenge
Thanks for sharing your week, happy reading and I hope you stay out of the path of any further typhoons.
Your challenge sounds like it might be fun. Congrats on finishing it this year. Reading a book with a certain color cover might be a challenge for me since I read primarily on my Kindle. All your other books look good too. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
Wow that’s a grea lot of books for the challenge and such variety too – so congratulations on all those reads. Well done.
Yay for completing your reading challenge! That’s awesome! I have trouble fitting in books that are outside my usual reading genres too, that’s why I don’t do a ton of this kind of challenge. Great job though!
