Adrian Mitchell is a powerful angel leading an elite Special Ops unit of Seraphim. His task is to punish the Fallen-angels who have become vampires-and command a restless pack of indentured lycans. But Adrian has suffered his own punishment for becoming involved with mortals- losing the woman he loves again and again. Now, after nearly two hundred years, he has found her-Shadoe-her soul once more inhabiting a new body, with no memory of him. And this time, he won’t let her go.

I liked the whole dynamics that this book has to offer. You get angels, vampires and lycans. There is a lot of action in this book with a smidgen of romance. The storyline progressed throughout the book fine but for some reason I just could not seem to get into the story.

For starters Adrian and Linsday meet in an airport. Adrian buys her coffee, upgrades her seat so that they can sit together on the plane and then offers to drive her home. I get that this is a rekindling of lost souls but the fact that Linsday is okay with this and just goes along with it is a bit tough for me to swallow. Buying coffee, okay no big deal but my creep radar would be going off when I found out that the guy I just met upgraded my seat so that I could sit with him the entire time. The only time that I would be okay with this is if it was Ryan Reynolds. Then I would throw caution to the wind and go with the flow.

My favorite character was Elijah, the alpha lycan. I loved his personality and he was pretty much the only character keeping me interested. He is sent to be watched by Adrian because he shows Alpha qualities which is a HUGE no-no. The only Alpha’s are the angels like Adrian. They don’t want the lycans grouping up against them. When he is first tasked to be Lindsay’s bodyguard he is very distant and professional but then he starts to open up and ends up becoming friends with Lindsay.

Lindsay- “Let’s go pig out, then ride a roller coaster until we vomit.”
Elijah- “You saved my ass for this?”
Lindsay- “It’s either that or run away.”
Elijah-” Fine. But I’ll warn you now – you really don’t want to puke on me.”
Lindsay- “Why not?”
Elijah- “I’ll puke back. I guarantee I eat more than you do.”
