The unscrupulous new Council chair has charged Jace, Marc and me with trespassing, kidnapping, murder and treason. Yeah, we’ve been busy. But now it’s time to take justice into our own hands. We must avenge my brother’s death and carve out the rot at the heart of the Council. It’s not going to be easy, and loss seems unavoidable, but I have promised to protect my Pride, no matter what. With a target on my back and Marc at my side, I’m heading for a final showdown that can–that will–change everything forever. A showdown I’m not sure I’m ready for.

But life never waits until you’re ready.

What a way to end the series. Rachel Vincent went out with a huge bang. The entire book is an emotional roller coaster of a compilation of battles between the prides. I wasn’t a fan of the first book at all but Faythe has definitely grown up so much in this series and is finally taking charge of her role and owning up to it, that you kind of have to admire her.

Rachel Vincent did an amazing job creating her world of werecats. I loved reading about the family bonds in a pride as well as watching Faythe grow up from a spoiled brat to a woman. If I hadn’t been told to stick with it after reading the first book I would have missed out on an amazing series. I applaud Rachel Vincent for starting Faythe out so immature, because with that we watched her come a long way. You realize that all the heartbreak and loss that she has endured in the short amount of time has turned her into the strong woman that she is now.

I couldn’t be happier with how the series ended. I definitely wouldn’t recommend reading this book while at work like I did. It took all of me not to cry at some parts of the book. It isn’t a Happily Ever After ending either. It was a battle, there are loved ones and pride members that need to be mourned, a pride to rebuild on top of the repercussions of the war. I REALLY wish there was another book in the series but I am happy the way it ended.

One word of advise, DON’T read any spoilers.

One Thought on “Review: Alpha by Rachel Vincent

  1. I let a friend tell me how this ended because I read the first 5 books and couldn’t force myself to read this, it’s one my most disliked series.

I am glad you enjoyed it, I know so many people who love this series!
