Arrow’s Hell

Being the younger sister of a Wind Dragons MC member isn’t as great as you’d think it would be.

I can’t escape the details of my brother’s exploits.
No one tells me anything.
Men who know who I am tend to stay away from me.

And worst of all:
The members of the MC are off-limits.

When Arrow catches my eye, I make it my mission to make him happy again.

When I fall head over heels in love with him, I just hope he will be there to catch me.
And that my brother doesn’t kill him.

It’s been a couple of years since I read the first book in the series, Dragon’s Lair. So, it did take me a little bit to get my bearings. However, it didn’t take me long to catch up and remember everything. I’m not 100% sure if we met Anna in the previous book or not, but I felt like the author did a great job introducing us to both her and Arrow. You see, Anna is the little sister to one of the members of the Wind Dragon motorcycle club. She’s moved back into the area, and he’s trying his best to reconnect with her and incorporate her into his world. The only problem is, he doesn’t want her dating any of his club brothers. So, when Anna sets her sights on Arrow, it comes with a lot of challenges. Not only would her brother be furious, but Arrow is emotionally unavailable. Having lost his woman some years back to a shooting at the clubhouse, he has detached himself from everyone. So, when Anna shows up, not taking his crap and instead handing it right back at him, he’s thrown. No one has ever talked back to him, and there’s just something about Anna that makes him want to open himself back up and experience life again.

I will say that this is a stereotypical MC romance. The guys are all crude, short-tempered, and exactly what you’d think of when you thing of a motorcycle gang. Arrow was no exception. I was kind of hoping that since he’d lost someone and has been sort of brooding ever since, that he would be a more sensitive character… but he wasn’t. He would yo-yo back and forth with Anna. He’d kiss her, then go off and be with another woman. He claimed that it was in order to get her out of his mind, but I’ve been there, heard that. He would also get very territorial with her over the littlest things, would snap at her if she asked him something as simple as “what are you up to later today”, and was just all around a Grade A jerk. Pretty much these two boned, fought, and boned some more. I honestly have no clue what these two had in common, other than physical attraction.

One thing I did like about this story were all the other story lines that come into play. Between Anna’s best friend and her good friend from the MC potentially becoming romantic, to maybe her step-brother finding someone. Let’s just say that it was interesting to see new characters pop up and get some time in the light. I’m really looking forward to some of their stories. I just really hope they aren’t all possessive, double-standard, douchebags.

5 Thoughts on “Review: Arrow’s Hell by Chantal Fernando

  1. Oh damn, he sounds like a jerk. I hate it when I dislike one of the main characters.

  2. I have the first book. Oh I love the possessive.

  3. LOL Great review. I hope the series picks up with your next read. I don’t mind a possessive douchebag, but I don’t like it when he runs cold and hot so much.

    Great review.

  4. Interesting. I read one of hers (can’t remember which) and thought the MC part was pretty laughable. It was like BabyMC that doesn’t really know what an MC is supposed to be like. They were all so tame. lol

  5. This doesn’t sound like a book I would like.
