Reid Alexander is used to getting what he wants – and what he wants next is his newest costar, Emma Pierce. The universe is lining up nicely to grant his wish, until he’s confronted with two unexpected obstacles on location: a bitter ex-girlfriend and a rival for Emma’s affections.

Emma Pierce just got her big break after years of filming commercials and made-for-TV movies. Winning the lead role in a wide-release film – opposite the very hot Reid Alexander – should be a dream come true. But Emma’s heart is hiding a secret fantasy: she wants to be a normal girl.

1thoughtsHoly cow, I don’t know if I’ve ever read a book where the MC was so self-centered before. I mean Reid starts off being kind of cool but then he takes a nose dive into jerk-ville. Just like a little kid, he sees something shiny and new and decides that he’s going to go after Emma (his co-star). However, when she doesn’t appear to be as easy as all the fan girls, who are dropping their panties at him, he takes liberties on the side (in secret of course) while trying to play mind games to get Emma to sleep with him. You see, he’s made it his personal mission to get into Emma’s pants before the end of filming. …There really wasn’t any redeeming qualities to this guy.

“If I met you last night, and brought you back to my place, or followed you to yours, and we had sex, that’s what we asked for from each other. It’s what I got, and what you got. I don’t know you, you don’t know me. Thanks for playing, and we’re done. If by some fluke anything was said at some point during this entire exchange that made me curious enough to see you again, I would.”

Emma is an up-and-coming actress. She’s had some smaller gigs but this movie is going to put her name on the map. She’s starstruck by Reid. Not only does she have an amazing role but the hottest thing to hit Hollywood is showing interest in her. However, she’s on the fence about him. She’s fantasized about him for a long time but she just can’t let go and be comfortable around him like she can with her other co-star (indie actor) Graham. She finds herself confused between these two guys. One is every girls dream but is a total player, and the other one puts her at ease but seems to be reserved when it comes to a relationship with her.

I think the one thing that I love about this novel was… GRAHAM! He just seemed like such a chill guy. He isn’t into partying and getting laid like the other guys. Even though you aren’t sure if he is dating one of the other co-stars, he’s always there for Emma. He just seemed like a stand up guy compared to the other sleazeballs.

This was a great story about a naive girl who is just making a break in her career. She’s figuring out who she is, not only as a person, but as an actress as well. I liked that Webber included some scenes from the movie into the book. It not only showed the characters while at work but also how they put their personal lives on hold in order to finish the scenes for the day. I really liked this story and I will definitely be picking up the next book in the series.
