Half-vampire Catherine Crawfield is going after the undead with a vengeance, hoping that one of these deadbeats is her father—the one responsible for ruining her mother’s life. Then she’s captured by Bones, a vampire bounty hunter, and is forced into an unholy partnership.

In exchange for finding her father, Cat agrees to train with the sexy night stalker until her battle reflexes are as sharp as his fangs. She’s amazed she doesn’t end up as his dinner—are there actually good vampires? Pretty soon Bones will have her convinced that being half-dead doesn’t have to be all bad. But before she can enjoy her newfound status as kick-ass demon hunter, Cat and Bones are pursued by a group of killers. Now Cat will have to choose a side . . . and Bones is turning out to be as tempting as any man with a heartbeat.

This book is a case of kick-ass chick meets kick-ass dude and they team up to kick ass together.

While Cat is off prowling for her next evil vampire to kill she stumbles across Bones. She has everything planned out on how she is going to kill him but he is doing everything against her rule book and before she knows it she is knocked out and chained up in Bones’ lair. He is convinced that she is working for someone since no human would be out hunting vampires. Cat however is a half breed and once she gets pissed off enough her eyes start to glow green and Bones is floored. He decides to keep her alive and train her, in order to go after the big guys.

I don’t know what I was expecting but it certainly wasn’t me falling in love with this book. So much so that not even halfway through reading it, I went online and ordered the entire series. I loved Cat’s bad-ass attitude and the fact that she isn’t afraid to get dirty, as long as it results in one more of those leeches dead… for real this time. Bones is a Master vampire and is as strong as they come. He is also a bounty hunter and kills vampires for money. When presented with Cat he is pretty much instantly smitten with her even though she loathes all vampires.

The story is fast-paced and packed with action. Cat and Bones make an awesome team fighting and the romance between the two is the cherry on top of a great story.

Cat has come across another vampire stalking around Bones’ cave and she immediately goes into attack more 9and subdues him. Once Bones shows up questioning her straddling him and acknowledges the guy as his friend she releases her prisoner.
“Believe me, mate, I’ve never enjoyed a woman astride me less. I came out to say hallo, and this she-devil blinded me by flinging rocks in my eyes. Then she vigorously attempted to split my skull before threatening to impale me with silver if I so much as twitched! It’s been a few years since I’ve been to America, but I daresay the method of greeting a person has changed drastically!”
