Twins Sera and Luke Raine have a well-kept secret—she heals with a touch of her hand, he sees the future. All their lives they’ve helped those in need on the sly. They’ve always thought of their abilities as being a gift.

Then Luke has a vision that Sera is killed. That gift they’ve always cherished begins to feel an awful lot like a curse. Because the thing about Luke’s ability? He’s always right. And he can’t do anything about it.

When I started to read this book I thought for sure it would be in Luke’s perspective. Instead we follow all the characters that are introduced in this story. Luke, Sera, their friend Fey, Jonas (the vampire who protects Sera) and Marc who is sent to track down the prophecy kids and report back with their location. It was interesting to see what the other characters were up to throughout the book since they each play a role in the story.

The characters were easy to connect with and I liked the bond between Luke and Sera. They are very close and seem to do just about everything together. Then in comes Marc who is a potential love interest for Sera and no matter how persistent Luke is that he will break her heart, Sera still insists on seeing him. Fey also isn’t a fan of the guy either but when you read his side of the story you sort of see where he is coming from and why he’s been tracking them down. And Jonas… I just don’t know what to say about him. I liked him since he is the head honcho of vampires in his area, everyone obeys him. But there’s just something about Sera that reminds him of his human sister and he feels the need to protect her, even if that means going up against Lilith herself.

I liked the story and thought the whole thing was entertaining. I did have one issue with it though, I found there to be a lot of over explaining on certain things and quite a bit of filler that wasn’t really necessarily important to the storyline. One part of the story that I did love was Marc. I thought the ending would be predictable. I thought that he would be predictable. And they weren’t! I must say that I got a little happy when I got to the ending and it worked out the way it did because it wasn’t what I expected and I like when a book surprises me.

Luke waved his arm toward the door. “Ladies, first.”
“Chicken.”
“Gentleman.” Luke pointed at himself and grinned. “You always get those two confused.”
