Virginity.
Bliss Edwards is about to graduate from college and still has hers. Sick of being the only virgin among her friends, she decides the best way to deal with the problem is to lose it as quickly and simply as possible—a one-night stand. But her plan turns out to be anything but simple when she freaks out and leaves a gorgeous guy alone and naked in her bed with an excuse that no one with half a brain would ever believe.
And as if that weren’t embarrassing enough, when she arrives for her first class of her last college semester, she recognizes her new theater professor.
She’d left him naked in her bed about eight hours earlier. . . .

I’ve been dying to read this book since before it even came out. I couldn’t tell you where I stumbled upon it but for some reason I knew that I was going to really enjoy this story… and I did.

I liked that the author didn’t try to complicate the story. I thought for sure they were going to get caught, she was going to get pregnant or the notorious drama lama was going to rear it’s big furry head and create a mess for the characters. However, nothing of the sort happened. It was a story about two people who try to fight their attraction for each other since it’s not really allowed for a teacher to sleep with his student. They decide to have a secret relationship and wait until Bliss graduates to go public.

I thought it was a sweet romance story and I really liked the characters in it. I loved how on the first night when they almost do the horizontal tango and Bliss puts on the breaks saying she has to pick up her cat from the vet, instead of confessing later on that it was a lie, she goes out to the shelter and buys a cat. It’s hilarious because this cat hates her and will cuddle up to Garrick no problem, but when Bliss gets near it, it starts hissing and growling. I just thought it was funny that she went so far out of her way to keep up the cat charade instead of just saying she chickened out because of the whole virginity thing.

Even though I saw some typos, it wasn’t anything too major that distracted me from the story. However, there was enough of them that I was surprised that in the end this was a published story that went through editors and proof reads and yet so many mistakes made their way through. Even so, I still loved the story and the characters and I cannot wait to see what Cora has in store for us next!

“Honey, right now you look like someone’s adorable little sister. No guy wants to screw his little sister. And is he does, you don’t want to be near him.”

3 Thoughts on “Review: Losing It by Cora Carmack

  1. I wasn’t a big fan of this. For some reason I felt it was a little juvenile for NA but Debbie loved it. I guess NA is just not my genre :S

  2. That looks so freaking adorable! Made me wanna read it even more than I already did(:

  3. Every review I read makes me want to get that book even more and yours is one of the worst! SHAME ON YOU! *cries* Now I just want to reaaaaad it.. Arrrrgh! ;_; (In other words: Great review! :D)
