The Dark-Hunters are ancient warriors who have sworn to protect mankind and the fate of the world is in their hands. . .
He is solitude. He is darkness. He is the ruler of the night. Yet Kyrian of Thrace has just woken up handcuffed to his worst nightmare: An accountant. Worse, she’s being hunted by one of the most lethal vampires out there. And if Amanda Devereaux goes down, then he does too. But it’s not just their lives that are hanging in the balance. Kyrian and Amanda are all that stands between humanity and oblivion. Let’s hope they win.
Amanda’s world gets turned upside down when she goes to let her sister’s dog out, gets mistaken for her twin sister and is attacked and wakes up handcuffed to a strange guy. It turns out that the guy attached to her is not only an immortal but a dark hunter who is pretty much the protector for humans from all things that go bump in the night.
Kyrian was turned into a dark hunter when his wife betrayed him to the Romans and he was brutally crucified. Now he is subjected to live an eternity in darkness protecting humans from what we would call vampires. Due to the betrayal from his wife, he has build a barrier up around himself but it all comes crashing down when he wakes up to find Amanda handcuffed to him.
Amanda comes from a strange family. They all have special powers, some psychic, telepathic, even her twin sister is a daimon hunter. All she wants is a normal life and she is hell bent on staying out of the craziness but it all blows up in her face when a case of mistaken identity throws her front and center into paranormal overload.
A friend of mine recommended this book to me and once I was assured that there was romance in it, I went to the library and snatched it up. It a took a little bit for me to get my bearings when I started this since I didn’t read the previous book but since I read a lot of paranormal books, it didn’t take me that long to catch up. I liked the chemistry between the two characters but I must admit that I absolutely loved the beginning but then it started to die out for me. However, it held my interest during the entire book and before I knew it, I was finished.
“Mr. Goth man, would you please wake up so I can leave? I really don’t want to hang out in a closet with a dead man any longer than I have to, okay? C’mon, please, don’t make this a Weekend at Bernie’s thing. There’s only one of me and you’re a really big, big guy.” -Amanda
I love the YA series she’s writing and which is actually a spin-off of this series. However, I never got a chance to start them – but everyone seems so excited about those book! Need.To.Read.It!
I just picked this up the other day at my local used bookstore! Looking forward to starting it now that I’ve read your review. Thanks for posting!
