Rhiannon Hunter may have revolutionized romance in the digital world, but in real life she only swipes right on her career—and the occasional hookup. The cynical dating app creator controls her love life with a few key rules:

– Nude pics are by invitation only

– If someone stands you up, block them with extreme prejudice

– Protect your heart

Only there aren’t any rules to govern her attraction to her newest match, former pro-football player Samson Lima. The sexy and seemingly sweet hunk woos her one magical night… and disappears.

Rhi thought she’d buried her hurt over Samson ghosting her, until he suddenly surfaces months later, still big, still beautiful—and in league with a business rival. He says he won’t fumble their second chance, but she’s wary. A temporary physical partnership is one thing, but a merger of hearts? Surely that’s too high a risk…

The Right Swipe is a cute romance between two competing dating app creators. Samson and Rhi met via a dating app months ago, and had a great night together. However, after their date, Samson ghosted her. Now, months later, Rhi bumps into Samson only to realize he’s the new face of her competitor. Not only was this a second chance romance, but it dealt with misunderstandings as well.

Rhi is a bit skeptical and is very closed off. Samson is very open and adaptable. These two just fit together so well. I loved that their romance was a slow-building romance even though they had already hooked up. Rhi isn’t quick to trust, but Samson makes it hard for her to keep her guard up all the time. I really liked that the author gave us both of the character’s POV’s so you got a better understanding of both of them.

Not only is this a second chance romance, but it dealt a lot with family and sport related injuries. Samson cares a lot for his aunt and will do anything for her, even though she’s not blood related. Rhi also has her own tribe behind her who she can rely on. I really liked that these two main characters looked towards those in their life for advice. It gave this story a more well-rounded world than just the two of them trying to figure things out.

I had a great time reading The Right Swipe. I liked that it was a second chance romance. I liked that it was a diverse cast of characters and personalities. I liked that we got so many little tidbits of side information about other characters. The author did a great job of creating this world instead of just telling two people’s story. I will definitely be keeping an eye out for the next book in the series.

3 Thoughts on “Review: Right Swipe by Alisha Rai

  1. I like a good second chance romance.

  2. I had this from the library but then got caught up doing Christmas prep and ran out of time. I’ll have to try to get it back in 2020!

  3. I ended up dnf’ing this one but it was the audio that bugged me. I want to give it another go but in book form soon.
