Petty Officer Bacon, a navy SEAL and ace sharpshooter, has been on the front lines of more than his fair share of dangerous ops. Yet when a minor injury relegates him to the beta team, he’s tasked with what may be his riskiest assignment yet: the silver fox journalist he’s babysitting is the hottest, most charismatic man he’s ever encountered.

Award-winning journalist Spencer Bryant may have been named one of Pride magazine’s most eligible bachelors of the year, but he’s not looking to change his relationship status. He’s a consummate professional who won’t risk his ethics or impeccable reputation by getting involved with a source. Even a sexy-as-hell military man. But while Spencer can resist his physical attraction to Bacon, he has less control over his emotions—especially when the mission goes sideways and the two men are trapped alone.

Getting out of the jungle alive turns out to be easy compared to facing the truth about their feelings for one another back in the real world. And whether or not they can build a future is a different story altogether.

Tight Quarters is the story between a Navy SEAL sharpshooter, and an award winning journalist who form a bond while working together. Spencer is lucky enough to get embedded with a SEAL team to help write his upcoming book. However, when he’s paired with Bacon, he finds himself becoming attracted to the young SEAL. Pretty soon these two are not only fighting off enemies, but fighting off their growing feelings for each other as well.

I have really enjoyed the few books I’ve read from this series. I was really interested to see how a romance would work out between a journalist and a SEAL since the previous book I’d read were between two military members. However, this story didn’t really work for me. I never really felt a connection with the characters. It didn’t help that a lot of scenes would jump forward a lot. So we’d get a paragraph of story line, and then jump forward to a later time and date. I would have liked if the story flowed more smoothly then just getting choppy sections of their story pieced together. It almost felt like I was reading a cliffnotes version of their romance.

Even though I wasn’t able to fully immerse myself in the story or connect with the characters, I really liked that the author included some SEAL ops into the story. Those glimpses into Bacon’s life really brought forward not only how mentally/physically demanding his job was, but it also validated what Spencer was working so hard towards. While the sweet moments of these two on a day-to-day basis is nice, I always love it when a story shows more of the behind-the-scenes of what the characters do for a living.

Even though Tight Quarters wasn’t my favorite, I still look forward to the next book in the series. I’ve really enjoyed meeting these guys, and was really happy to see some older favorites make an appearance.
