Dating the Prince of Darkness has its challenges…

Leila’s psychic abilities have been failing her, and now she isn’t sure what the future holds. If that weren’t enough, her lover, Vlad, has been acting distant. Though Leila is a mere mortal, she’s also a modern woman who refuses to accept the cold shoulder treatment forever–especially from the darkly handsome vampire who still won’t admit that he loves her.

Like choosing between eternal love and a loveless eternity…

Soon circumstances send Leila back to the carnival circuit, where tragedy strikes. And when she finds herself in the crosshairs of a killer who may be closer than she realizes, Leila must decide who to trust– the fiery vampire who arouses her passions like no other or the tortured knight who longs to be more than a friend? With danger stalking her every step of the way, all it takes is one wrong move to damn her for eternity.

There were so many plot twists to Twice Tempted that I wouldn’t even know where to begin. From Leila leaving Vlad to join the carnival scene again, to her being attacked and on the run, to trying to navigate her new life. I couldn’t flip through the pages fast enough.

Leila and Vlad are still burning up the pages in this second installment. Pun was totally intended. I just loved that even though this is the second book to their story, their passion has only ignited even more. I didn’t know that I could fall even more in love with Vlad, but somehow I did with this novel.

Speaking of Vlad, you would think he’d be this ruthless killer… and he is, but only when provoked. If you cross him or his, he will kill you. It’s as simple as that. However, he has a soft spot for Leila and has a very hard time turning her down. Even if that means pulling back on his desire to maim or kill someone. That guy did so much for Leila that I honestly don’t know how she thought he didn’t care for her. It was written all over the actions he did for her.

I wish I could go into so much about this story but I don’t want to spoil any of the plot twists that take place. The author did an amazing job keeping their relationship fresh, adding new elements to their story, and opening up more possibilities for the future. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for them next.

Favorite quote…

“You see, you don’t want me to love you. You want the version you’ve made up. The knight, even though I’m the dragon and I always will be.”

  7. I remember reading this years ago… But I don’t remember much about it at all beyond loving Vlad! This is sad. I think I need to re-read this series and start by actually reading the Cat and Bones books. 🙂
