It’s time to give away the old to make room for the new!
As I was unpacking the boxes upon boxes of books when we moved last summer I realized something, I have way too many books. I kid you not, the room was filled with boxes and they were all books. I didn’t think I had that many books but I guess I did. So I vowed then and there that I would slow down on the review books and start focusing on my neglected books. I’ve been able to get through quite a bit of my books and I know have a pile going for giveaways. Since I don’t plan on rereading them I figure I should re-home some of them so someone else can show them some love. I’ve also added an extra giveaway for any foodies out there. These are some awesome cookbooks that I’ve had for some years now.
Meatless Meals for Meat Eaters
Holiday Appetizers, Dinners and Cookies (3 Cookbooks in 1)
Herbed-Wine Cuisine
Top Secret Restaurant Recipes
30 Minute Asian Meals

“Rafe once believed in happily ever after, coming from a large Italian family. He’s got the Midas touch, since every endeavor he tries turns to gold. That all ends when his wife walks out the door and leaves him blindsided. His devastation quickly turns to steel when he decides no woman will fool him again. From that point on he treats relationships as nothing more than business transactions where both party’s come out mutually benefited.
Just when Ari has sunk to the lowest she’s ever been she finds an ad in the paper announcing a job that’s too good to be true. It turns out she’s right. She makes it through the intense rounds of interviews only to find out the job is for a mistress to the powerful Rafe Palazzo, owner of Palazzo Enterprises. Rafe gives her a day to think about whether she wants the position or not, and she’s sent on her way, only to find out her mother’s near-terminal position has taken a turn for the worse. Her mom’s only in the hospital because Ari messed up, and her mother’s the one who paid the price. Is Rafe her savior, or will he take her with him straight to the depths of hell?”
You only realize how many books you have when you have to move them all. I moved a few years ago and was also amazed to see how many books I had. I really should focus on getting the books I already own read, but I just can’t resist all the review requests and new books being released.
That’s my goal this year; read the books I already own. I’m hoping to read them all (physical only) and then donate/giveaway the ones I won’t re-read but I think there are too many. I’ve been saving up books for some years now. I’ve been pretty good at only accepting or requesting books that I’ve been dying to read. So I’ve been able to keep that down to a bare minimum.
Very awesome giveaways. I feel you. We are in the process of clearing out two bedrooms to prepare for my daughter and her husband, along with my granddaughter to move in with us for a year. (they are saving for a home) Well I had books in all of the bedrooms..and now they are lined up on walls in our finished basement and I look them and think..”how the heck did I accumulate so many books?
Oh gosh. After the move we went to a furniture store to get some new furniture and they had this gorgeous trunk (it was set up as a coffee table) and I had to have it. I explained to the Mr. that it would be perfect for my office/library room to hold my giveaway books. I had no idea I’d fill it so fast :\ It’s easy to forget about with all the books nicely hidden away and not piled into a mountain.
I need to do my own spring cleaning too!
If you want to do a hop I think they do one for every season. I just barely saw this one with a few hours to spare before it closed. I think there’s also a romance giveaway hop coming up but I don’t remember the blog that’s doing it. I saw it in passing and forgot to bookmark it 🙁
