Time keeps on slipping away

I’m linking this post to Sunday Post, Mailbox Monday, and It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?

Whoops. I missed a couple of months there. I don’t know about you guys, but time is slipping away from me.

I joined a local rescue to help them set up a TNR department, and things have not gone smoothly. Even though we are located in Okinawa Japan, they are registered in the states. Which, makes signing up for assistance in Okinawa difficult.

Earlier in the year I helped take in a cat that was previously TNR’d, but that had what looked like an eye infection. I say “what looked like” because a week ago I found out that it was tumor near her eye, and had to have not only the tumor, but her eye removed. So, I’ve had my hands full with helping her recover from that.

Add onto that, our local TNR cats for our neighborhood were recently targeted. We had someone new move in a week ago and they apparently took an immediate dislike to the boys and reported them to animal control. Out here in Okinawa, we don’t have access to shelters like in the states. There is one “shelter” that holds pets for owners to pick up, and if they don’t get picked up, they are gassed. So, yeah. The last handful of days have been chaotic with trying to figure out what to do with our two boys who are complete sweethearts. It’s hard because the older one needs an adjustment period to get used to being inside, and no one can hold them. So,  for now, they are hanging out in our outdoor catio until we can come up with a game plan for them.

  1. Wow, you really do have your hands full with that.

  2. Sounds like you have challenges but good perserverance. Your kitty pics look cute.
Have a good week and Happy Reading!

  3. Oh my goodness, you are an angel working with feral cats and I’m so sorry with all the added hassle! My daughter wants to get involved with the feral cat coalition in our area, so I may be out TNR-ing at some point in the future.

  4. The Bodyguard looks good. Good luck with the animal rescues.

  5. The Bodyguard catches my eye too – could be the spring-like flowers 🙂

  6. I just love the title Mistakes Were Made. Sounds like it is going to be plenty of fun.

  7. I hope the teething problems with the rescue service are resolved soon.

Both Mistakes Were Made and The Bodyguard look good.

Wishing you a great reading week

  8. I hope things are working their way out with rescue situation.

MY reading is so sporadic these days but it looks like you’ve found a lot of good reads.
