Consort of Secrets
(The Witch’s Consorts #1)

Publisher: Ink Spark Press
Publication date: March 8, 2018
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Every witch knows the rules: Stick to your own kind. Never reveal your powers to outsiders. Take a consort from the witching families or kiss your magic good-bye forever.
For years I’ve been quiet, obedient Rose Hallowell. I accepted the man my stepmother chose for me. But I never stopped missing my long-ago friends.
Now we’re back on my childhood estate to arrange my marriage. The boys I grew up with? They’re still in town—and they haven’t forgotten me either. And damn if they haven’t grown up well.
They’ve got no magic, no place in my life. But they’re charming and sweet and infuriatingly hot, and I can’t seem to stay away. The more I try to resist, the more secrets I uncover about my family, my betrothal, and everything I thought was true about the witching world.
I’ve been lied to. I’ve been betrayed. So to claim my magic and my happiness, I’ll break every rule there is—and then some.
Don’t mess with this witch. Every rose has thorns.

At the Stroke of Midnight
The Mister surprised me with my very first snowboarding trip! I’ve never been snowboarding before, but have always wanted to go. Since we’ve been getting quite a bit of rain here, the ski resort a few hours up north has getting a lot of snow. So, the Mister took Friday off so we could go up and have some fun. It is not as easy as it looks. Oooweeee It’s a ton of leg work, and since I was terrified of the speed, I pretty much did squatted breaking the entire time down the mountain. Let’s just say that everything from my nose down to my toes is sore. It was an absolute gorgeous day though, and while I found out that snowboarding isn’t for me, I’m glad I got to go.

The Hate U Give
I accidentally skipped last week’s wrap-up due to having company over. My best friend flew out last weekend and I kind of lost track of time. We went out and did something new every day she was here. Needless to say, this week has been a whirlwind of fun. We did everything from local hikes, checked out a couple of the beaches, went to a place where you could throw axes at a target, went to local breweries, and we even got to check out a local cat cafe. I’ve heard about them being in Japan, but I had no clue that there was one near my house. I loved sitting down with a cup of coffee, and getting to hang out with a bunch of cats. Plus, I loved that all the cats that were there were up for adoption. I wanted to take this one cat home with me. The owner kept saying he was the temperamental grump of the bunch, and I guess I just felt like we were kindred spirits or something. 😀 The best part is, he walked right into my friends lap and was loving all over her. I wish I could have adopted him, but my cat is not okay with new animals coming into the house.
Since I wasn’t really home to do any reading or blogging, I have a lot of catching up to do. I had an absolute blast this past week. Since I live across the country from all my family and friends, having someone fly out to visit is a huge deal. It was also great because she wanted to do a bunch of things that I hadn’t had a chance to check out. Since we move around a lot due to The Mister’s job, we tend to not experience everything a location has to offer. However, I felt like we knocked out a ton of things in the San Diego area, and when his job relocates us to a new location, I will have no regrets. A lot of the things we did I tried to take pictures to share on my Instagram stories, but there was so much that a lot of it wasn’t posted.
