Positive. With two little lines on a pregnancy test, everything in Lizzy Rollins’ ordinary life is about to change forever. And all because of one big mistake in Vegas with Ben Nicholson, the irresistibly sexy bass player for Stage Dive. So what if Ben’s the only man she’s ever met who can make her feel completely safe, cherished, and out of control with desire at the same time? Lizzy knows the gorgeous rock star isn’t looking for anything more permanent than a good time, no matter how much she wishes differently.

Ben knows Lizzy is off limits. Completely and utterly. She’s his best friend’s little sister now, and no matter how hot the chemistry is between them, no matter how sweet and sexy she is, he’s not going to go there. But when Ben is forced to keep the one girl he’s always had a weakness for out of trouble in Sin City, he quickly learns that what happens in Vegas, doesn’t always stay there. Now he and Lizzie are connected in the deepest way possible… but will it lead to a connection of the heart?

In the previous book we saw Ben always texting someone. Whether they were out at a bar or he was on a date, he always had his phone on him. I was curious to know he was texting when he was sort of forced to go on a date with Lena (previous MC), because the moment they called the date off, he was up and gone. Well, in this story we finally get to see who the mystery person is.

Since the book starts off with Lizzy finding out she’s pregnant, the author takes the time to give us flashbacks to how she wound up in this predicament. Between her first encounter with Ben when her sister was dating Mal (second book in the series), to her digital friendship via text with Ben, to that one hot steamy night they shared before they split ways. I really liked that the author took the time to go back in time to give the readers all the background information instead of slowly letting it trickle out in conversation. It made their rocky relationship that much more frustrating.

You see, Ben is not an easy guy to like. In fact, I’m not sure if I even liked him when I finished the book. He never wanted to settle down, he enjoys being able to hop on a jet and take off to wherever when the band has a small break between recording and touring. Which, I get it, you’re used to living the bachelor life… however, he tells all this to Lizzy! Then he proceeds to toss money at her like that’s the answer to everything. Put money in her bank account, get a lawyer to figure out child support, pay for her maternity clothes. It was all so absurd and it made it really hard to like the guy. Poor Lizzy is dealing with the first couple trimesters of pregnancy and he asks her to come on tour only so that she can stay in someone else’s suite. He gives her a nod when he sees her, but never really wants to interact with her. Don’t get me started on his lame excuse text of “How are you doing” that he felt was enough. Sure, sure, he tries to step it up and be there for her more, but he was always so held back and I just didn’t care for him at all.

Even though Ben’s character was super frustrating, I still really enjoyed this story. I’ve enjoyed all the books in this series and while some characters were more enjoyable to read than others, the series as a whole is pretty awesome. If you are looking for a rock-star romance, then you have got to give Stage Dive a shot.
