A smokin’ hot British player…
A jilted girl…
One night of mistaken identity…

Two weeks before her wedding, Remi Montague’s fiancé drops her faster than a drunken sorority girl in stilettos. Armed with her best friend and a bottle of tequila, she hops a plane to London to drown her sorrows before fall semester begins at Whitman University.

She didn’t plan on attending a masquerade party. She sure didn’t plan on waking up next to the British bad boy who broke her heart three years ago—the devastatingly handsome and naked Dax Blay. Furthermore, she has no clue how they acquired matching tattoos.

Once back at Whitman together, they endeavor to pretend they never had their night of unbridled passion in London.

But that’s damn hard to do when you live in the same house…

One night. Two damaged hearts. The passion of a lifetime.

Oh man, did I struggle with this one. I’m all about second chance romances, and even enemies to lovers, but this one was just so hard to read. I get that Remi was dropped like a hot potato by her fiance two weeks before their wedding. Heck, if I couldn’t get a refund on my honeymoon, I’d go off with my bff and make the most of it, too. I even get maybe hooking up with someone to get back at your ex. However, I don’t get her outright hatred and disregard for Dax. Is he cocky? Sure. However, he shows true concern for her time and time again. Instead of recognizing his genuine concern for her well-being or seeing how he gravitates towards her, she keeps reflecting back on something that happened three years ago! As if people, especially those in college, don’t change and grow up. I just really didn’t understand how she kept flippantly tossing him in the douche-bag column, when he was anything but.

Another thing that really REALLY got me angry was the fact that she decides to get back with her ex. You know, the same guy who not only dumped her before their wedding, but also had a picture of him on social media with some random chick on his lap with the hashtag #StudyBuddy, ON THEIR WEDDING DAY!!! I’m sorry, but I don’t care if you show up with *NSYNC singing, “I Want You Back”, I would not take your sorry ass back. Then to throw your new relationship in Dax’s face, and get in a mental hissy fit and stomp your princess feet around when he gets fed up with your shit and talks to another chick. What do you expect?! You’re back to being engaged to the guy who dropped you not even a month ago! I just, can’t. I could not handle Remi’s character. At. All.

There were other things that took place but I feel like those are massive plot twists that would be huge spoilers. Just know that, AGAIN, Remi dropped the ball. While Dex was a mess with mommy issues, Remi was a hot mess who could not make a decision about anything. There was just way too much unnecessary drama, and the majority of it didn’t even make sense.

Bummer. I can see where Remi was not your kind of heroine, Kristin, and I don’t think I blame you. It’s too bad because this one’s pretty high in my queue. :/
