Being the first female werecat enforcer isn’t easy. Scars accumulate, but I’m stronger in so many ways.

As for my personal life? It’s complicated. Choices worth making always are. Ever since my brother’s death and my father’s impeachment, it’s all I can do to prevent more blood from spilling. Now our Pride is under attack by a flight of vicious thunderbirds. And making peace with our new enemies may be the only way to get the best of our old foe.

With the body count rising and treachery everywhere, my instincts tell me to look before I leap. But sometimes a leap of faith is the only real option.

A lot goes on in this book that it is hard to write a good review for it without giving away parts from the previous books. What I can say is that there is a lot of action. Between Malone maneuvering to take over, the introduction of the thunderbirds, Faythe owning up to the fact that she will be Alpha in the near future and the whole Marc/Faythe/Jace love triangle, you are not left bored in this book. I could not seem to put this book down.

I love how much Faythe has progressed over the last few books. She is finally owning up to who she is and she’s taking it seriously. Not only is she preparing to be Alpha but she is 100% dedicated to helping and protecting Kaci. Even when the Thunderbirds kidnap the poor girl, not once but twice, Faythe is right behind them making sure she gets her back.

As for the love triangle, I’m still on Marc’s side. Jace is sweet and all and really steps up and proves he isn’t just a flirt, but I’m a Marc girl. He is dedicated to her and has stuck through everything that she has put him through and is still there when she needs him.

I cannot wait to read the last book in the series. It will be the final battle between Malone’s Pride and Faythe’s and I am dying to know what happens.

Marc comes back to the hotel after running an errand and finds Jace in the bathroom and Faythe naked in the bathtub, both with guilty looks on their face (even though they were doing nothing wrong). Marc freaks out and demands to know what is going on and punches Jace. Jace partially shifts and becomes extremely protective of Faythe threatening to kill Marc if he touches Faythe. Marc and Faythe are totally thrown back by his blatant challenge that Marc freezes while Faythe calmly talks Jace down.
-I really liked this part because it really stepped Jace up for me. He was just your typical flirt throughout the series but this scene really showed you how serious he is about Faythe.

  1. Great review! 🙂 I have yet to read this series, but it is on my list! 🙂 I’ve heard a lot of good things about it, and I feel like I’m out of the loop. One of the days…*sigh* Who am I kidding? More like “one of these years”! 🙂

    Enjoy!
