A pretty crazy month

I’m linking this post to Sunday Post, and It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?

I know it’s like a week  into the month of February, however, last week I was out sick with some serious stomach bug that brought me to the hospital. So, now that I’m all better and back to 100%, I thought it was time I do my January wrap up.

If you follow me on Instagram, then you might have seen the post announcing that we decided to keep the foster kitten. I had only planned to hold onto her until until the no-kill shelter had space for her, but after a month and a half of caring for her, I grew too attached to her. So, the Mister and I had a long talk about taking on another lil book sniffer and ultimately decided to keep her. My older cat may not be too thrilled with that decision, but I just couldn’t bear the thought of being yet another person who let her down and abandoned her.

Last month I also really cracked down on getting posts scheduled to go out way in advance. Which, came in handy because I made a last minute surprise flight across the country to surprise my mom for her birthday. I was so proud of myself because over the past couple of years, I’ve really struggled with getting posts out on a set schedule. I may have my reviews all typed up after I finish reading a book, but I just never seem to sit down and get them formatted for the blog until the day I plan to post them. So, last month I nailed it. I’m just hoping I can keep that trend going for the rest of the year.

I didn’t get any review books this month, but I did win an amazing giveaway from KimberlyFaye Reads.

  1. Sorry to hear you have a bug. Stomach things are always the worst. Your kitten is precious! You are reading a book I loved and shed many tears as I read. I hope the “event” doesn’t make you hate the book. It was very polarizing amongst readers. Nice stack of books you won. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the Point books. They were really gritty and dealt with the world of crime, but Crownover got me to buy into it. Enjoy!

  2. Glad you’re feeling better! A trip to the hospital- yikes. And that is so cool you guys decided to keep the cat. What a lovely decision and I’m sure she’s very happy with her new home. Go you. 🙂

  3. Aww, I am glad you are keeping the Foster kitty. Wahoo on nailing your bloggy schedule!

  4. I’m glad you’re feeling better! I can see why you kept the kitty. She’s adorable. I hope you have a good February!

  5. wow. that’s a great stack of books. i am pretty good about blogging ahead, but i would like to get further ahead than i am. most posts i write up, i schedule immediately. that means some shuffling around occasionally, but i would rather do that than have them sitting in the draft folder…forgotten. lol

  6. Oh no! I didn’t realize you were that sick. Glad you’re doing better.

Welcome new kitty and I hope she’s recovering well from her spay surgery.

  7. Way to go on scheduling posts! I finally have been putting due dates in my real calendar a few days beforehand, which has helped. Congrats on the new kitty 🙂
