They say you form your first impression of someone within thirty seconds of meeting them. Or, in Mira Parrish’s case, within thirty minutes of not meeting them, when said person is supposed to pick you up from the airport and never shows. This is not a perfect start to her new life. Her
friend Ivy is depending on her to run a new romance store, and Mira can’t afford to let her down.

Sam Lyons should probably apologize. But every time he sees Mira–which is often, since his family owns the bakery next to her shop–he can’t resist antagonizing her. There’s something about the sexy, straight-laced woman that drives him crazy. He can’t get involved, though. He has too much baggage to be any good in a serious relationship.

Despite his teasing attitude, Mira finds Sam too sweet to resist. (His hot body may be a factor.) But if there’s going to be anything permanent between them, they’ll need to let go of their pasts and look to the future…

Goodreads | Amazon | Smashwords

It’s Halloween night, 1966. 13 year old Lottie has been dead a 100 years and the kids go up to the graveyard with the book of spells Charlene Pendergrass swiped from Miss Robespierre. The kids are going to have some fun scaring themselves, bringing Lottie back, but it turns out Miss Robespierre isn’t the faker everyone says she is and there’s nothing fake about her book either and now there’s a ghost-girl walking the streets of Hope Mountain and what to do with her?
Maybe nothing.
Lottie’s no zombie ax-murderer. She’s just a peculiar kid who wants to be a teenager, something she missed the first time. What else she wants is Bobby Clyde, cutest boy in the freshman class and how can Bobby resist? Lottie is cute and sweet and funny, or are those things illusory, a witch’s spell on Bobby? And what’s Bobby going to do when it’s time for Lottie to go back up onto the hill? Bobby is determined to go with her. Lottie doesn’t think he should go but she doesn’t think she could live (or die,) without him. Only Bobby’s mom and big sister can save him and before they can save him, they have to convince themselves it really is true, and there isn’t much time.

Men At Work: Why Women Live Longer Than Men

From the New York Times best-selling author/website Cheezburger Network, a hilarious compilation of over 100 photos featuring the heights of male incompetence and showcasing the feats, follies, foibles, and questionable DIY activities of men at work in the home, the office, and just about anywhere.Men at Work showcases dozens of original full-color photos based on the popular websites There, I Fixed It and FAIL Blog, two of the most trafficked Cheezburger sites. From precarious ladder placement and jungle gym scaffolding to questionable balancing of two-ton mechanical equipment, Men at Work dares to offer a possible reason for why women live longer than men.

Men At Work is a compilation of funny pictures that are paired with sayings. Of course all of the pictures revolve around men and all the stupid things they do… that they actually think are great ideas. You have ladders on top of vehicles in order to reach the roof of a house, a hair drier to thaw (or maybe cook) a turkey, a rubberband around the head for a hands-free phone, and the list goes on. I have to be honest though, not all of the pictures show stupidity at it’s finest, some of these ideas and inventions are pretty imaginative and cool.

If you’re looking for something to flip though and maybe get a few chuckles out of, then pick this up. It’s made by the same people who do I Can Has Cheezburger? But with that being said, it’s nothing that you can’t find browsing the internet or the Cheezeburger website.

The pictures!
I love browsing their website and others like it to look at some of the funny things people do. Like for instance, this guy’s idea of protective bike wear.

Kensington Clarke is career-driven and completely focused, so when she meets Jace, or as her friends call him, Mr. Wham, Bam, Thank You, Ma’am, she ignores the attraction she feels. His charm is wasted on her. She doesn’t want to be another notch in his bedpost and doesn’t have time for his attentions, even if he’s the sexiest man she’s ever seen and the mere mention of his name makes her panties wet. Romantic entanglements just aren’t on the agenda.

Jace Briarfield is accustomed to women throwing themselves at his feet. He’s not egotistical; it’s just a horrible fact of life. All the women are the same and only want him for his face, his package, and his bank account, not the man he is inside. When he meets Kensington, he knows she’s different from the rest, especially when she ignores him. Having to chase a woman is a new experience, but one he is prepared to face head-on. He’s ready to be the relationship kind of guy.

When a drunken text from Kensington starts them on a roller coaster of emotional and sexual combat, he doesn’t do the obvious thing, much to Kensington’s chagrin. She wakes up in his bed, hung-over and grumpy, ready to run from him once more.

Jace refuses to let her hide again, making her face the assumptions that threaten to ruin their chance at happiness. Will she ever let down her walls and let Mr. Wham, Bam, Thank You, Ma’am catch her?

The heart cares not what society forbids.

Lily nurtures a secret love for a flawless man—the one who is her soul mate. Donovan is gorgeous, charismatic, and delights in all of Lily’s talents and quirks. Their innate knowledge of each other is almost telepathic. Together they interlock like fine threads creating luxurious silk.

But society dictates this picture-perfect adoration is the ghastliest of all possibilities.

As Lily embarks on a quest for the romance the heavens intended, her suitor turns reluctant. Desperate to uncover why Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hiding decayed from a tender-hearted gentleman into a ferociously self-serving, cocky bastard, Lily is prepared for battle when it comes to the salvation of her soul mate. However, Donovan traps Lily in a mental game of chess, leaving her to question his sanity. When Lily’s revelations about Donovan’s destructive alter ego lead to an inconceivable truth, can she help Donovan survive fate’s cruel joke?

Impassioned, witty, and deeply moving, Love’s Forbidden Flower is filled with stunning controversies that will forever haunt your heart.

Interview with Bethany Wiggins, author of Stung

Bethany Wiggins has always been an avid reader, but not an avid writer. She failed ninth grade English because she read novels instead of doing her homework. In high school, she sat alone at lunch and read massive hardback fantasy novels (Tad Williams and Robert Jordan anyone?). It wasn’t until the end of her senior year that the other students realized she was reading fiction–not the Bible.

Once upon a time, Bethany’s sister dared her to start writing an hour a day until she completed a novel. Bethany wrote a seven-hundred page fantasy novel that she wisely let no one read–but it taught her how to write. She is the author of SHIFTING, STUNG (April 2013), and CURED (2014).
