Playing Catch up

I’m linking this post to Sunday Post, and It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?

Oh man, it’s been a couple of months since I’ve done one of these. I’ve just had a lot going on and in all honesty, just haven’t been present all that much. Which, I’m sure you guys have noticed. I’m trying to get better about that. It’s just that I’ve been a little busy and kinda fluttering around so much, that I haven’t really had time to just sit down and blog, let alone read. Don’t even get me started on my reading schedule.

Anyway, first things first, I have been battling with the realtor who overseas the rental we’re living in. There were some pretty shady addendum’s in our lease that I had a lawyer look over back in May. Our lease was coming up and I wanted to have things straightened out before we renewed our lease. Long story short, the realtor shot down my requests and there was a month where I was preparing for another move. Thankfully things worked out at the last minute, the crazy addendum was revised and we are no longer looking at a possible move. But, there were a couple of months there where I was in panic/prep mode. I don’t know about you, but I hate moving and wasn’t too thrilled with the idea of doing another move for no reason other than crappy landlords.

Then Comic-Con happened. That was a lot of prep leading up to it since we were going to be away for a whole week. Then I needed a bit of time to recover afterwards. If I’m being completely honest with you guys… I’m still kind of recovering. It was a lot of people-ing for an introvert. It was draining to say the least. If you want to know about my trip and the awesome authors I got to meet, you can check out the post I did about it here.

Thankfully, all the craziness is behind me and I can sit down and focus on reading/blogging again. I’ve fallen so far behind on reading that I’ve exhausted all of my backup reviews that I’ve saved up over the years. I also have no clue on what books have been coming out, what’s slotted for release, or really just what’s out there in general. Needless to say, I have a lot of catching up to do.

10 Thoughts on “Playing Catch up

  1. Oh god yes, I hate moving. So glad everything worked out for you!

What did you think of The Rogue King? I recently finished it too, it was my first by that author.

I love your blog name, by the way – absolute genius and so true! Lol

  2. I’m glad things worked out with your landlord! I hated the rental game so much… It’s one of the reasons we were so desperate to buy and are so grateful to finally have managed it! Sure, I’ll be paying a mortgage until I die but it’s no different to paying rent really.

You seemed to have lots of fun at comic con. One day, I’m hitting that. Yep… One day.

  3. I’ve had some craziness with my lease for the last month too. They tried adding fees that weren’t in our lease and people took to social media and writing letters and making phone calls to corporate to get them to change it back and they finally did. Glad to hear you don’t have to move again.

  4. I’m so jealous you went to Comic-Con! Did you go to the Marvel events?
Bring Me Their Hearts has a really pretty cover. Hope you enjoy your current reads!

  5. Yeah moving is no fun. Glad that got settled out! I always get con exhaustion/ burn out too after going to a con- I imagine Comic- con would be even more so since it’s so huge!

I’ve got Bring Me their Hearts on the shelf waiting to be read.

    Have a great week!

  6. eden’s outcase has an intriguing cover. i have my moments when life takes over, i think we all do. we’ll still be around when things settle down and i’m glad you don’t have to move. i used to love it and did it frequently, but now that i’m older…not so much

  7. I’m glad you got the situation worked out with your landlord, moving sucks.

    Comicon looks fabulous, if exhausting.

Have a great reading week, and good luck catching up.

  8. Between the military and certain jobs, I’ve moved tons and tons of times, and it was always a bit of a headache. Ugh. Loved hearing about Comic Con, but I can imagine all those people around at one time was something else! Glad you got back to reading, and looks like you grabbed a few good ones! Hugs, RO

  9. Life does get in the way sometimes right? No worries, just take care of yourself and do what is best for you!!

I do need to grab up Fumbled and How To Date A Douchebag and soon!!

Hope you have a wonderful month in August darling!

  10. We’re renting now (for the first time in 25 years) and it makes me so nervous. I’m not used to having to worry about rules and the pets. Glad it worked out for you.

I really enjoyed Raven so thanks for that rec.
