My thoughts…

Alexion is always watching the movements of the dark hunters. He’s the guy sent in to assess the situation and deem whether a dark hunter is too far gone, or salvageable. With Stryker spinning lies and Acheron, the dark hunters quickly start to question their leader. Which is why Alexion is called in to get a read on things. However, thins go sideways when Alexion develops feelings for one of the dark hunters, and bumps into his best friend from when he was a human.

Since Alexion always spends his time in the other dimension with Acheron, he doesn’t get much social interaction. So, to say that he is a little straight forward and abrupt in the way he talks and deals with people. However, I really enjoyed that over the 10 days he spent on earth with Danger, you started to see him understand how to communicate with others. He was still sort of abrupt with people, but it felt less abrasive than it did when he first arrived. Getting to see the slow progression of Alexion’s character was probably one of the best parts about this book.

With that being said, I wasn’t necessarily feeling their relationship. Maybe if these characters had a bit of history or maybe if Alexion was on earth longer, it wouldn’t have felt so fast. While I do believe they had a good friendship and understanding of the other person over time, I just didn’t feel that romantic spark. However, that was easy to overlook because there’s so much that goes on in this book. Who is Stryker and why does he want to take down Acheron? Why is he trying to turn dark hunters to his side? Why are so many dark hunters falling for it? Who is Alexion really? What/who is Acheron? There were so many other moving pieces that the lack of chemistry didn’t really hold back the book.

This was an enjoyable read. It wasn’t my favorite dark hunter book, but it still held my interest. I do with the ending was a bit more fleshed out. I felt like that happened way too fast with no context to what it all means. With all things considered, it was still a good read.
